Vintage inspired photography takes us on a trip down Memory Lane, the name of a Calendar project headed by passionate Vintage model, Laura Norrey. Laura decided, after watching and standing by her Grandmother during the progress of Alzheimer’s dementia, that she needed to do something practical to help raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society. Having myself also been closely involved in the progress of the disease on three occasions in my own family, especially watching my own Grandmother disappear, and my Mother-in-Law with a very early onset in her 50’s, this was a must for me to be involved in too.
Laura loves the 1940s and 50’s eras and her make-up and clothing pay homage to the period. I first came into contact with Laura whilst putting a call out for Vintage Inspired ladies to pose for a launch of our Lipgloss and Lenses Sessions, make-over and photo shoots depicting the styles and fashions of the ‘Vintage’ era ( 1940s and 1950s). Since then she also posed for images used in the promotion of the Saddleworth Vintage and Handmade Collaboration – posing beautifully as Miss 1950’s Jubilee and Great Britain.
The Memory Lane Calendar is another collaboration of Professionals pulling together to produce a calendar brimming with Cheesecake style images of ladies that are part of Laura’s Burlesque Dance Troop. Graphic Design Skills offered by Simon Clarke, Make -Up by Lisa Gee, and images by Terry McNamara and myself- Jude Gidney. Numerous businesses have also been very helpful in lending props and venues. Each page of the Calendar is also sponsored by individual businesses, helping to cover printing costs.
The Calendar will be available from November, a fantastic Launch Party being arranged – watch this space. Below are a few images from 3 shoots, the ultimate photos kept under wraps until the
Launch of the Memory Lane Calendar. These are all taken at the Jude Gidney Photography studio in Mossley, Tameside.
If you wish to book Jude or Lipgloss and Lenses for a shoot please use the contact page on the site.
