81/365 Bride at Woodend Mill

Today saw the Open Studios at the Woodend Mill, Manchester Road, Mossley. The weather was fantastic and unfortunately footfall was to the park and pub. But myself and my make-up artist made the most of the occasion to make-up and photograph 2 bride models. And I am so so pleased with the results. A massive thank you to them both, and I believe they thoroughly enjoyed wearing the dresses for the afternoon.

80/365 A lovely drying day.

A beautifully sunny day led to a fevered rush around the house to sort the washing and a spot of spring cleaning. 1st time this year we’ve had a full day of sunshine – a lovely drying day!

79/365 Touchline

Another image from Churchill playing fields during a morning dog walk. I want to document the progress of the operation. iPhone again as really rather busy this week with processing and last call for Vintage and Handmade Fair in Uppermill.

78/365 All Change

Out walking with the dogs I noticed the changes that are going on at the Churchill Playing Fields. I am hoping that they are just putting adequate drainage underground as the pitches regularly are waterlogged and playing football is like wading in a river. But not being a player I only go on what I’m told. iPhone as decided to avoid mud and dogs with SLR

77/365 Saxophone

Wanted to take a photo of daisies today as I read a quote that if oyu could step on 3 daisies in one go it was a sign of spring. But 3 daisies didn’t make a good image.

This one is one I’ve processed today from a shoot at the weekend. Work in Photoshop

76/365 Coconut Macaroons

After receiving a Nigella Lawson Cookbook form my son’s for Mother’s Day yesterday, I was taken to make them some coconut macaroons. Trying to copy the photography in the book with a very short depth of focus using Nikon 1.8 lens at 1.8. Lit with an overhead speedlight. Wish the plate was whiter – more baking needed to trial the photography ๐Ÿ™‚

75/365 Photo Pamper Party

This afternoon was taken up by a 7 yr old’s Birthday Party at the Studio. Great fun was had by all.

74/365 Ring of Fire Team Photo

First job of the day taking a photo for the Ring of Fire Team at the beginning of their Sports Relief 120 mile cycle ride. Kevin Sinfield, the Leeds Rhinos Captain & England Rugby League Player who will be donating a signed shirt to a lucky sponsorer. Read more about the ride here

73/365 Harvey

ย A new game of hide and seek with a ball and Harvey has found a way to tire himself out. Makes quality time with him extra fun. Taken using iPhone and Hipstamatic app.

72/365 Daftodils

A recent cheering-up act was to buy myself some daffodils to bring spring into the house. Next to daisies these are one of my favourite flowers. Hope you enjoy their brightness and cheerfulness.

71/365 Pad Thai

Tea tonight. So glad my sons have a taste for foreign food. It was delicious.

70/365 Dovestone

Such a beautiful day prompted a stride around Dovestone Reservoir with dogs and Pictfamily . I’ve taken so many of this picturesque place and so have chosen this one as a change of view. Like the mix of man made design and the natural surroundings.[flickr][/flickr]
69/365 Tea Cakes

After all the excitement at the weekend – a quieter day, organising of a holiday and a bit of shopping. Tea cakes just seemed to jump into my shopping trolley – love the old fashioned look of them, oh and the taste.

68/365 Shop Local Festival

Today I hosted a stand at the Shop Local Festival in Uppermill organised by the WI. Lisa and I, aka Lipgloss and Lenses, offered portrait photographs and promoted our Make-over Photoshoot Parties. We met with a lot of good contacts also for the Vintage and Handmade Fair that we are organising on the 3rd June, the weekend of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

67/365 In the Garden

First day I’ve managed to get out into the garden for a little pottering and tidying up. It felt extremely therapeutic.

66/365 Poster – Vintage and Handmade Fair

Been working on this today – I”m not a graphic designer but we’re struggling to find one to do it for us. Not quite finished. Need to add about a local charity doing the teas and cakes in particular. Just heard from the Council that they’re willing to help with promo and more – so rather pleased.ย [flickr][/flickr]

65/365 The two of them.

Continuing concerns for Lara’s health – having to act as a vet-nurse today, monitoring her progress. An attempt at capturing the two dogs together – this is the closest the puppy will go near Lara as Lara will try to eat him if he goes any closer. They revolve around each other like magnets.

64/365 Lara

Lara, at the good old age of virtually 13yrs.Concerns for her health led me to take this one today. She’s such a gentle lady, but knows what she likes and won’t put up with.

63/365 Mellow Yellow

Dedicated to a dear friend @subtitlesonly – Bucket loads of sunshine – reflected in the vibrance of such a little but hopeful flower.

62/365 Crocuses

Sunshine sunshine – and the flowers are all popping their heads up. Some colour at last.

61/365 Focus

A trip to the NEC and Focus on imaging exhibition. Had a chance to view the new Nikon D800 – looks awesome but biding my time. Browsed numerous stalls getting ideas for new albums and photo books. This was a stall with models posing and the general public shooting them – I didn’t quite get the idea of it as although there was lighting most were using speedlights?? Recon my shot on my iphone was the bestย  ๐Ÿ˜‰

60/365 Fair Trade Baking

This morning involved cakes and coffee. A fair trade cake baking competition run by the local methodist church. I’m pleased to say that the two winners were both friends of mine – nice to know I have good bakers in close proximity. Erica’s Almond and Cardamon Cake was just to die for – so moist and yummy. A quick histomatic image with my iphone app.

59/365 Vintage Make-Over and PhotoShoot

Today saw us pull together forces with a number of small businesses in a Vintage Make-Over Photo shoot as part of the promotional images needed for a Fair I am involved in organising. More details of the fair can be found here :ย

A lot of hard work and great results.

58/365 Fungi

A beautiful morning’s walk with the dogs, and I came across logs covered in wonderful formations of fungi. Taken using Histomatic App on my iphone.
