Woodend Art Fair – Black and White portraits taken during the Mossley Art Fair.
Over the weekend my studio was open to welcome the public to view my work and experience the ambience. I asked as many of my visitors to pose for a ‘character portrait’ which were edited to resemble images similar to the old fashioned polaroid. I’d say about 3/4 obliged and a few just ran away! It’s understandable.
If you sat for a portrait, and wish to copy an image to use for a profile photo, please do, but these are not suitable for printing. Please either purchase through the site or contact me directly. Thanks 🙂

Maternity Photography or Bump-to-Baby Photography.
I love to meet mums before they give birth, in order for them to get to know how I work and that their newborn baby during their newborn baby photography session will be in safe hands. It’s a quiet and calm time when mum can feel pampered and looking amazing.
If you’d like to have a chat about what it involves or book a session for yourself please just message me or ring on 07759 599134.
Don’t be another one that regrets she didn’t do it.
Beautiful babies, changing so quickly in the first year of their lives. From Newborns, sleepy, curly little characters to sitters and then up onto their feet. They’re all wonderful opportunities for capturing moments in their developing worlds.
Ten things to capture yourselves:
- first smile
- baby stretches
- little character traits that you may notice like wriggling their noses, or fanning out their hands
- first roll
- sitting progress from needing support to sitting alone
- first laugh
- playing with a favourite toy
- mode of transport be it crawling, shuffling or rolling
- first steps and expressions
These are all little moments that can easily be captured on a smartphone or camera. They may seem cute at the time but they’ll be wonderful to look back upon years later. Remember to back up your images or even get them printed as simple prints put into an album or in a printed book. Images on a computer or phone are easily lost!!

5th June – The Small Business Emporium, Denton
This project is the beginning of a piece of work I am undertaking which I intend to submit towards my Associateship for the British Institute of Professional Photographers. ( BIPP)
I have worked with children photographing them in the studio, on location and at Weddings for over 14 yrs now. On equipping my studio I struggled to find beautiful toys that would both photograph well and the children would be engaged with to achieve natural and fun images. A memory of my two sons when they were under 10 yrs was of them spending more time enjoying playing and using their imagination to turn a cardboard box into a castle, TV, ramp and so on. So let them play with cardboard boxes!
The model shoot involved three children, who thought they were coming to the studio for a portrait session with their musical instruments. Some beautiful images were achieved but the minute I brought out the boxes they turned from performing pieces to children excited about creating and playing. The atmosphere so changed in the studio and they resulting images were so natural. The project continues, I’m not sure how many I will involve or for how long.
The project is intending to raise funds for Remember My Baby Charity of which I am a volunteer photographer.
