Happy New Year!

The New Year has started off well with 2 sessions in the studio before the 4th of January. The studio is also to be hired at the end of at the week for the use of a catalogue clothing shoot by a fellow photographer – Mark Gibbons Yet again this morning saw a fall of snow and so the boots came out again – although rather worse for wear!

Boots - Snow Damaged

The last few weeks of 2010

In the last few weeks I have been rushed off my feet with Portrait session orders, album orders and sessions.Wedding Photography Ashton-Under-LyneI expected the snow to cause problems with my last wedding of the year but fortunately for the couple there was a thaw before the next storm, and the only winter wonderland was found inside the reception room, with a beautiful blue and white theme – and it was warm! All family and couple photographs were taken indoors with the aid of a wireless flash set-up. We’ve also helped to celebrate a 7th birthday at the studio with another sucessful Magazine Shoot Party.   A make-over and photographs were much enjoyed by the girls who were already on a high with the imminent arrival of Christmas.

What a Year – AWARDS!!!!

I’ve just won 2 Gold and 1 Silver Awards in the Monthly SWPP ( Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers) competition. The 2 Gold winning images will now be submitted into the Wedding Photographer of the Year 2010 Competition . I’m sooo pleased!

Under Snow

Like most others in the country we’ve gone under about a foot of snow. It’s beautiful but hard work getting anywhere – and I’d love to get the camera out but there just doesn’t seem to be time. Spent most of the week processing portrait shoots from the weekend and working with the other Woodend Artists to get the room ready for the Christmas Social on Friday at the Mill.

3rd Marketing Seminar – last night TBF

I attended the 3rd Marketing seminar last night at Dukinfield town hall. We investigated email marketing and ‘played’ with a piece of email software. Seems like a useful piece of equipment. It seems a time consuming way of marketing but interesting non the less.
