It really is an honour, especially after this year of hard work and studio move. The year has seen myself and my fellow shortlisted companion, Lisa Gee ( category – Best Vintage Make-Up) slowly build up the business Lipgloss and Lenses, celebrating in style Vintage Photography and Fashion.
We have also been very active members of the steering group for the Saddleworth Vintage and Handmade collaboration, involved in organising and running a very successful Jubilee Vintage Fair in Uppermill, Saddleworth, an exhibit at MOSI at the Mini Makers Fair in July, and plans are rumbling for another event at Christmas.
Since March I have also been working, in collaboration with a number of other professionals, on Vintage inspired photography images for the Memory Lane Calendar, with all proceeds going to the Alzheimer’s Society. The Calendar is due to be launched at a Vintage Venue to be announced any day now and is co-ordinated by Laura Norrey. Other businesses that have also been very supportive of the Calendar, and also shortlisted, are Carol Oldham of Dormouse and the Teapot ( best blogger) and Limb – the Vanity Project ( best retailer).
The move to the new studio ensures that Lisa and I have more space to create sets reflecting the Vintage side of the business, with exciting ideas such as a 1950’s Diner and more.
