I have decided to take up a self-challenge of taking 1 photograph every day for the next 365 days – oh as well as the photographs I take as part of my work, obviously.
I’ve recently been asked if I’m likely to write a blog. I’ve thought about this for a while and have decided, as I had to take my English O’level ( yes, I’m showing my age) twice before I passed it, that writing ideas and thoughts in any readable fashion for others to read was to be avoided. Instead I’ve decided to take on this challenge – photographs to reflect some part of my day – with a short explanation. Although I am taking 1 photograph a day, I will only blog about them about once a week or so. I’m so much better at photographs and expressions than I am words.
I will be using a variety of methods to take photographs, iphone, Nikon D200, Nikon D70, Canon Sureshot – so don’t expect perfection. I also intend to use a variety of processing techniques and photographic methods – so adding a variety to the proceedings.
On the 12th night of Christmas ( 5th January – yes it is – Epiphany tomorrow) I’ve decided to go for it. Tonight, I opened my organic vegetable box to find a stem of enormous brussel sprouts – the size of a large walnut each. As a good-bye to Christmas I thought this first image was quite fitting. Taken on my iphone 3, using a Hipstomatic app – just trialling different looks – with lenses, film style look, and framing.
Thanks for looking at this first blog of my challenge – comments appreciated at any time.
